A review of the Perry French Agnicourt box set

I was a loyal member of Bretonnia for a while, and I've always managed to stick to human factions in every game.

And man, have I hated the fluffy clothing of the Empire models from the begining, I wanted something more... umm.. medieval.

And plastic, and cheap. And for years my only choice was almost Bretonnian Men at Arms, which were very static.

Well finally, after waiting for over a decade, Perry released something that wasn't quite so puffy and in tights. I present to you dear reader French Agnicourt infantry:

Here's one assembled:

In a previous blog post you'll see a comparison with other 28mm miniatures.

The box contains 36 of these men, or 3 sprues of the above, along with 6 men at arms. (Heavily armoured troops/ foot knights)

Each sprue contains 12 models and there is enough close combat weapons to arm each miniature with one.

Also each sprue can be used to equip 4 crossbowmen.

There is only 2x pavise/tower shields on each sprue, and four bucklers.

I went and cut some more tower shields out of card board.

Issues with the sprue:

None really, there are some bits of flash one would have to trim, mainly on the spears. But nothing too detrimental.

I like them, they fit in very well with my bretonnian men at arms. And at a price I can't really complain about.

28mm Fuedal/fantasy/medieval ages miniatures size comparison

In my 15 years of gamings, starting off with Warhammer 40k and finally into historical I've been across many different models and miniatures, and God have the sizes been up and down.

So for the record, I've done up a size comparison of my current medieval miniatures

Oh how the times have changed.
